May 2020 Wrap-up

Hey readers! May was a fairly good month; I turned sixteen and I got LOTS of time to read and strike off books from my TBR list. While May is a very hot and undesirable month, the mornings felt idyllic and cool while reading in my backyard. If it wasn’t for my post-coronavirus messed up sleep schedule I would get up everyday to read in the mornings but that happens rarely now (and it only happens when my sleep schedule gets more messed up than usual and I am up till sunrise). All in all, May was an amazing month, book-wise, as I explored another genre that I rarely read —Young Adult fiction— and I have my blog to thank for that. One thing I’ve learned is that I had this stigma inside my head revolving YA novels that they are all about romance and high school love stories but I’ve realised that they are much more! The quarantine has turned out to be not completely unproductive after all.

Currently Reading:

1984 by George Orwell

I find myself constantly rereading some old books since the lockdown and I really longed for some classic George Orwell dystopia so here I am!

All I read in May:

• Turtles All The Way Down by John Green

• The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Okay, Don’t kill me if you’re a fan of this series! I feel like I’ve been living under a rock since so long as I just started reading this series. Stay tuned for my review for this book!

• The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger

• Animal Farm by George Orwell

This book has been on my TBR for way too long and I finally read it this month. Hands down it was one of the best dystopian novels I’ve ever read. Stay tuned for my review for this book!

• Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

The first May read turned out to be exquisite and as I read through Joseph Heller’s satirical war tale. Check out my review for this book here: Week 3: Catch-22 Review

• All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

One of the cutest books you’ll ever find and if you find yourself engaged in romantic novels, then this is a must-read for you. Stay tuned for my review for this book.
